A little about Pushchino
Pushchino is a modern town that is well known in our
country and abroad as the Scientific Center of Biological Researches
of Russian Academy of Sciences. The main trends of the activity
that the Research Center is engaged in are molecular biology and
bioorganic chemistry, biotechnology, genetic engineering, industrial
and environmental microbiology, biophysics and cell biology, soil
sciences and photosynthesis.
The town is situated at the distance of 120 km south
of Moscow in a picturesque place that is on a high bank of the Oka
River.
From here, the slope of the Oka bank, a wonderful
view is opening on the opposite side where Prioksko-Terrasny State
Nature Reserve is situated.
Rational planning and picturesque landscapes of the
town add it an attractive and unique appearance that differs from
other cities of Central Russia. In summer, Pushchino is buried in
verdure of squares, parks and groves and painted with fabulous autumn
tints in September.
